Hi any one got any pointers or tips RE getting an iPhone from Abu Dhabi? Anyone know if it will be unlocked by Apple if bought there?

You can get them Unlocked from there but they are a bit behind the times. Not sure if they have the 3gs yet.

I have a few contacts out there and was looking at getting the 3g and it was a very late release by which time is had been out for months in the uk if not over a year.

Also it was very very pricey. Better off getting it from Italy or France.

Do you know if there is a list that shows what countries are locked to what proviers? I am guessing I got an iPhone from say Vodafone in a country where it has distribution it should work with my nornal Vodafone Sim here???

Dont think there is a site that shows if the are locked or not but go to History of the iPhone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and you can find out which network are selling them in each country.

I wouldnt bet on a phone from say Vodafone in a country where it has distribution to swork with my nornal Sim here. I would guess not.
