Sending emails

Sometimes when sending an email it does not send. Today was particularly bad, because the email would not send the phone was trying to send it, to the point where i had used 40% of my battery before lunch. The thing is i had to delete the email account from the phone to get it to stop.

Is there are way to access an 'outbox' to just delete the email when this happens in the future. It is a PITA and eats battery.

Info that might be needed:
Using Sky email (gmail) running it as IMAP.

Cheers
D

Re: Sending emails

there should be an out box your phone, you can just toggle it and delte from there. I'm with Sky and it's happened to me a few times too.

another thing to do is check your out going settings, make sure your user name and pass words is enabled

Outgoing Settings:
- Use SSL: ON
- Authentication: Password
- Server Port: 465

Re: Sending emails

are you sure the emails did not send?

reason I ask is I think the out box only appears if there's a need for it, ie when you can't send an email.

I have Gmail on my iphone to, If I think there's a problem I'll send test emails there.

Re: Sending emails

I run the Sky email (gmail) as IMAP, so i was able to check the outbox/sent items on web mail. The iphone was trying to send the email hence it ran down the battery very very quickly.

They are sending today, but yesterday they just werent going and i could not find a way to delete what was trying to send hence having to remove the whole account and then add again.

Put it this way the phone has been on for 14hrs and has used 9% of battery, not much usage. But yesterday because it was trying to send this email with no luck between 7am and midday it used 40% battery. If i could have found the email to delete it would not have tried to send anymore and use up loads of battery.
