Iphone upgrade soon. what happens to my apps??

Ive done a search on this but sorry if its already been asked.

Im nearing upgrade of my iphone and was wandering if when i get the 3gs, what will happen to my apps? Will i just be able to update the new phone on itunes and it will all be there? Apps, Music, calendar sync ect?

Or will i lose everything and have to start again?

Also is there any way to share my apps ect with my misses without her losing everything if she sync's with my itunes account or visa versa?

Thanks in advance

I'd backup your current iPhone via iTunes just before you upgrade. Then when you plug your new iPhone in, you can sync that backup. I've upgraded twice now, and still have everything from my original iPhone such as the text messages, data usage etc. Works very well!

She's not got one yet but it would save a few quid if we could share apps ect.

As long as you are using the same iTunes account you can share with more than one iphone. Not sure if there is a limit, but I have shared apps with 3 iphones on my account. All work as they should.

Re: Iphone upgrade soon. what happens to my apps??

you can share apps with whoever you like!!! you're allowed to install an app on up to 5 devices.

My wife has all of my apps on her phone, it just asks me for my itunes password when they update. I could send my apps to anyone here as long as i give them my iTunes password as well. So don't ask you cant have them!!!!

She has an iTunes account on her windows login and i have mine.

Re: Iphone upgrade soon. what happens to my apps??

Each phone can be set up differently.Different apps, different songs etc. Im only sharing my account with my teenage daughter so I havent looked to hard ,but the only thing I couldnt do was get it to differentiate between phones when it comes to adding/deleting contacts.
