Iphone 3GS Speakers Unbalanced?

So basically as far as i can tell on the bottom of the iphone there are two speakers. Something that has been bothering me is that the left hand one is significantly louder than the right side. If you cover the left speaker you barely hear anything whereas if you cover the right speaker it seems as though the sound is as loud as before.

Is this normal, is it the same on your iphone?
(I tried this with many sound sources so its not the sound file)
Thanks

Like what Tom says. Left is speaker, right is mic.
I thought mine was duff when I first got it.
