Car USB cigar lighter thingies

Has anyone had much luck with these and the iPhone. I have bought three so far, and none of them will charge my iPhone.

I bought a cheap USB plug that fits in the cigarette lighter, into which you plugged your USB lead.That didnt work . I recently boiught a cheap phone holder/fm transmitter/charger . That works perfectly.

There was a thread on here, couple of days ago at most that dealt with your question.Unfortunately the search function is out of action so I cant find it.Cant be more than 2-3 pages back.

I use a Griffin Powerjolt Dual (USB Charger). £16.99 from Halfords.

Can't say I've tested charging my 3GS from flat, but it certainly charges it up.

Hi mate I got a cheap cigarette lighter charger off ebay it was something like £7 including delivery and it charges my iPhone fine.

Thanks, just ordered one of those as well. What a great site, ordered 4 iPod USB cables as well, never have enough.

Yeah, the cables are fine too, the only thing about them is that they're not the low-profile type that come with the iPhone - they're larger chunky ones with buttons on the side to press in to engage them, but ho-hum!
