Hi guys,

I am currently using my 3g iphone on the 2.2.1 software which I jailbroke when I bought secondhand, so I could use the third part apps, etc.

I am thinking of upgrading to the latest 3.0 software as some of the latest iphone apps need the phone to have the latest software to install, and as running 2.2.1 cannot install...

Also, when the TomTom comes out, I will be in the queue to install and I am sure this will need the latest software to be installed. Has anyone got any ideas when this is out and what the costs are likely to be ???

My question is, will I lose the jailbreak on my phone if I upgrade to 3.0, and have to go through the whole jailbreak process again, or will it remain ok ???

I don't know for sure, but my guess would be that you need to jailbreak again, otherwise why would people have to wait for jailbreaks to come out for different versions? If everyone could just jailbreak once and then that's it forever, there would be no need to make jailbreak software for the more recent versions.

Yes you will lose the jailbreak, please see the relevant thread for how to rejailbreak 3.0.
