Movie lost during failed sync

Hi all,

I think this is probably something I'll have to talk to iTunes Support about but thought I'd ask here in case you know any work arounds.

I bought and downloaded onto my iPhone 3G a movie (License To Drive, a late 80's classic!). I also, after the time it took to download, then purchased a couple of movies on my laptop also via iTunes.

No problems so far! However, when I tried to sync, my laptop (an old clunky Dell) froze during the process and I had to cancel the sync. Everything seemed OK, I re-booted and synched again and all seemed fine.

Unfortunately, when I then checked, License to Drive appeared neither on the iPhone nor in the Movies section of iTunes on the laptop! I checked in Store>Check Files Available For Download but nothing there either.

As I mentioned, I'm going to e-mail iTunes Support tonight when I get home but just wondered if anyone has had a similar problem and if you know any way around it.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Movie lost during failed sync

Have you tried to purchase it again? Usually it says you have already purchased it and prompts you to download it again (free this time of course)

Re: Movie lost during failed sync

Hi Hutch, thanks for the reply.

I did try purchasing it again and it did indeed tell me that I had already purchased it but told me to use the Check For Available Downloads to retrieve it. I think because I purchased and downloaded it on my iPhone it didn't give me the option of another straight download.

Actually though, I haven't tried to re-purchase via the phone! I'll give that a try! Thanks again Hutch.

EDIT: Just tried to buy again via iPhone and, though it recognised I'd already bought it, it only asked if I wanted to buy it again, no offer of another download.

Oh well, will try Apple tonight.

Thanks for the help.
