Iphone and orange

I am looking to buy a iphone to use on orange what is the best way to source one ?

Get a PAYG iPhone either new or second hand. I ordered mine online for the Apple Store. New cost is £440. Jailbreak it, unlock it, use Orange SIM. Takes about 10 minutes to do

does this affect any of the functions?

Only thing I know won't work is visual voicemail as I believe that's on O2 contract only. Everything else I've tried is working fine.
