I want to buy a iphone 3gs, preferably a white one - the only thing holding me back is the reports of the white coloured one going brown due to overheating etc.

Is this happening to many owners of the 3gs white?

Same here, mine's still whiter than white

There were some reports that it may not be down to overheating, that it was to do with certain cases instead

I didn't have it in a case before the mark showed. It's in a Feather now.

hmmm still in two minds about getting the white one - i do not want to be having to remove it from its case (will be Incase frame) just to check if it has changed colour

Maybe i should go for the black just to be safe -
