My wife is currently with O2. She is being given an iphone and wants to use it with her existing tariff.

She called O2 to ask to add a web bolt on and they said that in order to get all the options she would need to change her contract to an Iphone one. They said she could change her tariff to an iphone one without actually taking out a new contract. Is this right?

Could anyone confirm this is correct. If she only gets a web add on what functions of the Iphone won't work?

Your wife could be transferred to the new iPhone tarrif but I'm sure she would have to pay out her existing contract to do so as that is what I had to do myself.

The only thing I don't think you get when not on an iPhone tarrif is Visual Voicemail but I'm sure someone else can confirm if I'm wrong.

Visual voicemail, call conferencing and possibly tethering as that is not available on PYG so might not be available on other tariffs.

As long as she has a data bolt on, as it could be very expensive otherwise, there is no reason she can not use her existing tariff.

I'm on an non iphone tariff but have the web bolt on added for free to be honest I prefer it that way as I'll never use the bits that are missing.
I can't understand why they won't add the bolt on though it seems like they are playing silly beggers with you cause you're paying for the bolt on so they should give it to you
