EU law says Iphone covered for 2 years

Easy Reading Corner - Booklets: Europe on the move

The above is a document discussed a few weeks back on 5 live, basically all EU residents are protected by a 2 year warranty on electrical products, scroll down a few pages and read for yourselves.

I am sure Apple will deny all knowledge

Are you sure you wouldn't like AppleCare? It comes in a nice white box...

Re: EU law says Iphone covered for 2 years

Under UK Law, your statutory rights Under the sale of goods act 1979, covers you for 6 YEARS, although stores do not acknowledge this as they would lose far too much money from Warrenties, you will have to fight for this and speak to Citizens Advice.

Am currently fighting a street electrical store to repair my fridge freezer.

You are both right, however the problem is that the EU law clearly states that after 6months you have to proof that the device has had the fault since it was manufactured, which is extremely difficult to proof. The same applied to the Sale of Goods Act, you also have to proof that the fault already existed when it was manufactured. Good luck.
