I have posted a couple of times and tried various actions but i'm not getting anywhere, I'm not sure about phoning o2 as i'm not on an i phone contract, according to o2 i have an Lg and they may not help me on this issue.

I'm having problems sending mail with the o2 smtp account, i dont where i'm going wrong, i reset my username and password with o2 and that is what i'm using for the setup.
here is what i have on my screen

server on

outgoing mail server

host name smtp.o2.co.uk
user name gordiegords
password **********
use ssl off
authentication password
server port 25


when i try to send a mail get the error message
the user name or password for "smtp:username@smtp.o2.co.uk" is incorrect


Anyone got any ideas?

there is nothing worse than being able to receive mail but not being able to reply

Should the Use SSL not be switched on???

Also you may need to enter your full email address as the username. I have to with my gmail account though o2's email settings may be different.

I thought it might have been the ssl but i turned it on and still nothing, i have went through 2 usernames, 1 my actuall username and 2 which is just username, still hee haw, this is really starting to bug me now, it worked fine before i upgraded to 3.0
