Re: possible damage by removeing screen protectors

Most of the iPhone screen protectors are static cling rather than any form of sticky coating so cause no damage at all and leave no residue when removed.

Re: possible damage by removeing screen protectors

I've read differing reports about the Switcheasy protectors and a cannot get a definitive answer regarding the presence of glue or not on them.

Re: possible damage by removeing screen protectors

I had a look at this vid on youtube and it doesn't seem like it actually has glue on it, as the guy has used the first one and taken it off and then is showing how to put it on using the second one.

Part 1: YouTube - How to install an iPhone 3g iPhone Screen Protect Switcheasy p1

Part 2: YouTube - How to install an iPhone 3g Switcheasy screen Protecter P2

I have ordered the rebel serpent (which includes 2 screen protectors) so was also interested to see what the screen protector is like.

Re: possible damage by removeing screen protectors

When i used my ones on my old 3G they come off easily with no residue On a sidenote, the Rebel tends to push the protector off the sides/corners

Re: possible damage by removeing screen protectors

The vast majority are static these days, so to remove without damaging the protector (for cleaning, repositioning etc) use a bit of sticky tape to grab it and lift

I very much agree with that...IMHO I did not like the rebel protectors, as the Serpent cover would squash the side of the protector and cause bubbling up, the dust would settle in there Also found fingermarks and smudge lines left on these protectors

I bought the anti-glare protectors from the apple shop (£9.99) which have a much better feel and leave no marks at all...have now got a Belkin silicone cover for the iPhone too
