Strange problem with MS Exchange on 3GS

I've got a NHS email account and tried to set it up yesterday on my iphone.

Couldnt get anywhere so contacted NHS email support, they gave me some some server settings to try. Tried that and got an authentication failed message. Saved settings anyway and was warned that i may not receive or send emails with the account. Then it asked me to input a 4 character passcode to access emails on the NHS account. Did this and am now receiving emails to the NHS account, howver now when the phones main screen locks out i have to input the passcode every time on the slide to unlock.

strange, anybody else got any experience of this?

Yes I think I might know whats going on if its the same as my Company (i use an xda for my company email) when using the a mobile device (so the same for an Iphone) the corporate security policy is that the mobile device is set to screen lock with a passcode (so that no one can read sensitive emails without unlocking the device first). So I would check with your IT people to see if this is correct if so there is nothing you can do about it if you want to recieve your work emails on the phone.

I dont mind it happening, and did think it must be something along the lines you mention, worth it for me to be able to access my NHS mail from the phone without using the browser.
