How long does activation normally take?

Just put a pay and go sim in my 3G and done a restore in itunes.

It's been sitting with this message for over 1 hour now, is this normal?

Should I phone o2?

My iPhone (contract) activated almost instantly

I don't think the SIM is activating here it is just the phone and iTunes, the Touch does the samething. Even when you do a restore it tries to activate. I would just remove the cable and try again.

hmmm,

Been over a week now so hard to remember - but I reckon it was literally hours if that. Bought it on Saturday but didn't activate until Monday (charging and had other things to do!).
