Transfering DVD to Iphone - recommended software

Hello

I have all the futurama box sets and some scrubs box sets also that I would like to convert so I can watch them at work on my iPhone

Does anyone have any recomended software they use, ideally thats free so that I could do this.

I assume that once they are converted, its just drag and drop

Thanks in advance

Stephen

Mac or pc? If you have a mac then handbrake is really good, took me about 50 minutes to convert each disc for family guy season 5 (3 discs). Not sure what's available for the pc though

Re: Transfering DVD to Iphone - recommended software

Handbrake is still good for PC
You will need a dvd decryptor, however.
Google is your friend..

Then just use the presets.

Best part is, it's all Free...

I had this trouble ripping PE for my psp.

Basicly, write down the number of chapters for each episode (futurama's are all 4)

Then set the begin/end chapters for each one, then add to the que (sorry, can't spell for toffee...)

Ie, Futurama: Se2e01 = cpt 1-4, Se2e02 = 5-8, ect...

Its running in the background now, but what I really wanted to do was split the episodes off of the disc so I could save space by uploading only the episodes I want - Is that possible

Ok, when you open the disk in handbrake, there are two dropdown menus, start and end chapter,
labeled chapters ___ through ___
Just set those for each episode, then add them to the queue

So to rip the 1st futurama episode, select chapters 1 through 4.

For episode 2, chapters 5 through 8.

I use DVD Decryptor and then total video converter - very simple and straightforward - converted the Band of Brothers boxset - excellent quality

Stop everything now!

What you will have so far is a slowly encoded, garbled mess...

Dvd's are encrypted with Macro\/ision, which is removed by your dvd player when watched.

However, Handbrake does not have this, but it still tries to encode, resulting in 20x time needed, and useless results.

Run dvd43 in the background at all times during encoding, and you will be fine

Re: Transfering DVD to Iphone - recommended software

For avi i use Winavi MP4 Converter-a 22min episode takes about 5 mins
For dvd i use DVDFab-converts in real time but file size can be big.For example Wall-E was 944mb and The Incredibles 688mb, both using default settings.
