Headphone remote with 3GS

Unlike the previous iPhones the 3GS is rumered to have a fully functioning remote (volume & pause, play, skip etc) included with the headphones.

Has this been confirmed yet in any of the reviews? Can't see anything.

Yes.

I have a set of Apple Dual driver in-ear with remote headphones and tried them with the new 3GS this morning in store.

Decided not to buy one, but the headphones work just like they do with my 4th gen Nano i.e. volume up/down, 1click pause/play, 2click next track, 3click previous track.

Didn't try the mic but can't see that not working.

all iphones have the remote. the new 3gs has volume as well.

If you have a standard set of iphone headphones "click" the mic and it will start the ipod function.

I am told that either the volume or the controls did not work on previous iPhones. I have read it on the web also.

Wish they did an affordable in-ear version.

For my 3G I used Griffin Tunebuds - in-ear with mic/button. Has anyone come out with a good in-ear product with the mic button and the new volume button?

By the way you can also hold the button down in old and new mics to trigger Voice Activation - but is it me or is the voice a lot quieter than the music?
