Managing phone on 2 machines

I manually manage my iphone and I have just bought a netbook.

When I try and set the phone on the netbook to manually managed it tells me its synced with another library and it would need to wipe everything from the phone.

Is there a way around this?

Turn off auto sync this phone under the general option in iTunes when it's connected.

If you can't drag and drop stuff to it with that check box off, then probably no way to do what you want to through iTunes.
