What size 3GS phone you getting? taking the added recording facility, are people mainly sticking with 16GB or moving to 32GB? Most people will only take short clips, so for your pocket, the 16GB would be sensible.

I go for the 16GB, but got itchy fingers and might go on the 32GB , as im getting PAYG the 32GB (exisiting contract sim) is a bit on the expensive side for me personally.

I doubt i would fill the 16GB as with all songs and apps, videos, its was about over half full, as i would off-load the video after i shoot, that sounds crude

so leaves about 7GB for video. Would that be good enough?

Plenty of room for all my music, lots of apps, videos (probably some dvd's) & photos, I hate running out of room and having to delete stuff.

If you mean the comments on the other thread - they cost me a fortune, after deciding on a 16G I then changed my mine and a 32G will be waiting for me on Friday.

I thought I'd be fine with 8gigs on the 3G. After installing about 2gigs of apps, and that 8gigs is really 7 (The same way that 32 will be 30), I am really caught for room so I'm going for the biggest this time.

Haven't decided for sure yet. I currently have the 16GB 3G and have just under 1GB free - but the bulk of that is my music - and that's my complete collection. I'm just not sure if 1GB would be sufficient to allow for any new music I download, tomtom, video captures etc. That said I'm pretty sure 32GB would be complete overkill - and £98 is a heck of a premium for an extra 16GB of storage. Anyone got any idea of how much room TomTom takes up on a WindowsMobile? Bearing in mind I would only be interested in having the UK maps?

If it helps someone quoted 100/200MB for a UK map. Sounds like you are on the cusp of a 32G - I just think that with video and with more and bigger apps to purchase I should go for a 32G so I did. Good luck with your decision.

I'm going to say something very obvious....


...Buy the biggest you can afford.

It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. And with the iPhone you never know what's around the corner and how much storage it will take (think TomTom). So if you can afford to get a larger capacity, do so

Ultimately though, if you can't you can't so money somewhat makes the decision for you.

32Gb is pretty much the biggest selling point of the 3GS for me. A 16Gb iPhone has been available for a long time now, meanwhile the standard iTunes music bit rate has moved to 256Kbps, video is available to download over the air and apps are getting bigger.

as much as my wife tells me that size doesnt matter - this forum has confirmed my fears that it does! as a result ive just called CPW and increased my girth to 32gb

I was going to just get the 16GB but now I think I'll just get the 32GB just in case, I think they will sell better later on as well

I'm going for the 32GB, got around 20GB of music now and don't want to have to decide what music I want to listen to in advance as you never no what music your in the mood for until the time comes, plus want to be able to have ample space to play with as and when new apps, videos etc are released.

Only thing bothering me is having to wait for pay day at the end of the month to be able to order the thing.
