It is only VGA resolution so not going to take up anywhere near as much space as as a full SD/HD project in iMovie. I would guess somewhere around about 100 to 120 mb per minute depending on the compression applied. If you planned to use the iphone as a camcorder replacement on holiday, then you'd probably want to get the 32GB version of the phone unless you had some way of uploading off the phone. All depends how much space you need for other stuff like apps, tv shows, movies and music etc.
The tech specs on the Apple website mention VGA "up to 30 fps" which would indicate that there might also be settings to drop that rate down.
Will it be any good? Hard to tell until we get our hands on the new phone. But if 'on paper' frame rate is anything to go by, then 30spf should be more than adequate for quick grab shots that you might not otherwise get because of the inconvenience of carrying a dedicated camcorder. I've been reasonably happy with the 10 to 15 fps I get in VGA from various point and shoot still cameras. So 30 should be a lot smother. Certainly won't replace the HD camcorder though
