CPW Contract - preorder notification

Wondering what info people have been getting from CPW.

I preordered a 3GS on Thursday evening on contract. Apart from my checkout confirmation and an out of stock order status email I haven't heard a thing from them

I've had the order confirm email, then a card declined email due to my bank suspecting the transaction as fraud. I got them to unblock it and phoned CPW back and they put the payment through again and told me my phone will come into stock 19th June and be with me on the 19th June. I'm guessing they got that slightly wrong and it will be instock before the 19th and be with me on the 19th.

I have only received those 2 emails though and when I go on the tracking site and enter my order number it tells me its currently out of stock and my order should have been delivered on Friday 12th June.

Same 2 emails here and I pre ordered mine lastnight. Should hopefully get a few more emails nearing the end of the week

Same two for me, I ordered mine on thurs money went out for the phone on saturday. Not long now.

Cheers for the reassurance!

Have opted for delivery to store as I can't guarantee that someone would be in all day.

However paranoid that my "reserved" one might be sold on I might try and wangle an hour off and call at my CPW store on way into work rather than doing it on way home at 5pm

I don't think they are doing delivery to store on the new iPhone, from what I have read that was a mistake and they will only send it to your house. They should contact you and tell you that you can't have it delivered to store.

Will give them a call tomorrow and check. When I had to ring them (problem with card payment) I reitterated that I was doing delivery to store. Guy said okay, nor problem. That said I don't trust call centre drones!

BTW, CPW site says that I can track my order via city link using my Transaction number, this work for anyone? All I get is invalid number

that'll be because its not shipped yet, the tracking number will only become live when city link collect the parcel from CPW and log it on their system.

CityLink won't show any information until they have received and scanned in the package.

had a notification when i ordered, then another a few minutes later to say that iphones were currently out of stock and then heard nothing. Called up CPW today and was told my card had been rejected (no notification sent through).... tried again on the phone and went through this time (there was money in the account before so i asked why it was declined - the guy on the other end of the line said they'd been having technical difficulties and card payments via the web had been touch and go - and the notification system hadnt let everyone know!).

I suspect that there will be a few people dissapointed on friday if this is indeed the case as people simply wont have been told there was an issue.

My advice is that if you havent heard anything then id give CPW a call just for piece of mind.

Did you pay for the phone or was this just the 1p security charge?

this was for the £87 i had to pay when starting up my new 24 month contract.... or at least thats what the guy on the phone led me to believe.

Since then ive STILL not had any additional communication from CPW. Paranioa keeps haunting me about it! lol.

Going to check my bank acc in a short while though to see if anything actually has been taken out.

While on the phone i asked if everything had gone through ok with the o2 credit check (cant imagine why it wouldnt) and i was told all was fine.... you'd have at the very least expected a notification to tell you that wouldnt you!!

Comms in general from CPW have been very poor upto yet imo.

...just check with TSB and so far nothing has been taken from my account. May take a day or so though im guessing ?!

UPDATE: just taken an automated message from Llyodds TSB asking if the 1p and £87 payment from earlier today was genuine.... so it looks like something is happening afterall

I think its the 1p security payment that does it.... although they actually took the 1p from me on saturday as well as today.... so CPW owe me 1p

It should show as gone from your balance but won't show on your statement yet. I ordered mine on thurs last week and had my £87 taken on sat gone.

Just had a call from my back saying that they had suspended my card due to a suspiscious 1p transaction from CPW

Told them that this was legit and they took the hold off. Checked the status of my order with the CPW automated service and it says processing. We'll wait and see if this changes.

call the number you posted > dont press 1 and wait to go to next menu > press 2 > press 1 > enter your confirmation email.

I'm in a similar situation, waiting to hear back about CPW's stock.

O2 sent me log-in details for their site just now. My account tells me my new phone number and has all the relevant information. A few things that have confused me though: apparently the first bill will be tomorrow, even though the actual phone hasn't arrived yet. Is this normal? Another thing is, on the order history, it says I ordered a "O2 ?35 (3G iPhone) 24m". Since there's no S in there I'm worried they're sending me the older model by mistake.

Just checked the landline voicemail and I had a message from a lady calling from the CPW head office. Saying it was regarding my order i placed online for an iphone. she gave me her direct number so i called it but just rings and then goes to voicemail. Guess she's gone home

I will give her another call tomorrow morning. I'm guessing it's regarding the 1p charge my credit card company didnt authorize!!!

Agreed. I've not used CPW online before.Their online comms are awful.

I sent an enquiry via their online form on Friday, I didn't get a reply until Monday asking for my postcode and dob (God know Why they need that, I'd given them my transaction number)
As of today (Wednesday) not heard anything back.

Only used them as I can't go to a store on Friday morning (I'm a teacher) and they are the only retailer doing preorders. (I think there was a web based one too - but I wanted to collect at my local store as there's no one in all day - seems they've f****d that up too)

Can't say I'm impressed - no order tracking and don't reply to emails. !
