Cydia crashing
Hi all,
I am having problems with my jailbroken 3G 3.0.
Ever since the jailbreak, Cydia has been very temperamental - i.e. crashing when I click the Cydia icon. A new window opens, but then that window closes and I return to Spring/Winterboard. I have been able to use Cydia since the jailbreak, but the problem has got worse and now I can't access it at all.
I have had similar problems with other apps - mainly Facebook, which loads up and then the FB screen freezes and closes the app.
Any ideas?
I'm hoping that I don't need to re-jailbreak and that maybe a 3.1 update might resolve this for me.
Thanks

Re: Cydia crashing
This is going to sound stupid but have you re-booted the iphone. i.e. turned it off and back on again. Like all computers the iphone is prone to have its RAM soaked up by all those JB apps.

Re: Cydia crashing
I posted in the cydia thread yesterday that i was having problems it.
I've been looking to see if you can just restore Cydia but it seems you cant. So I need to re JB and restore, but i cant be arsed.
I think all in all my phone has been noticeably slower and more flaky since the 3.0 upgrade. Much slower than it was running a JB'en 2.2.1 firmware device.

I re-JB'd today. Cydia works fine again and everything seems a little faster than last time. I used RedSn0w 7.2 this time instead of 7.0 (or 7.1?) last time.

Re: Cydia crashing
Just redone my phone (sync'ing the last of my music now)
Decided to set up the phone as a new device this time (ditched my last backup) the phone seems more stable now that it did before and a bit nippier than before

Re: Cydia crashing
Oh Crap!
Looks like I'll have to re-do my iPhone now, then, because like you, Cydia has decided to go kaput on me, and as soon as it attempts to start (and shows the Loading Data screen and animated circular logo), it simply goes back to my main iPhone screen.
Does anyone know why this has suddenly happened? I haven't downloaded any new apps in ages (weeks), and suddenly Cydia goes tits-up?!

Maybe cydia is just having problems? Wait a few hours and see if it sorts itself?
Actually, saying that, mine is working fine so maybe at your end! Then again, you say you havent downloaded anything so nothing should be messing it up really. Restart your phone, see if it does anything.

Re: Cydia crashing
Hi,
Well, Cydia is still not working, and seeing as re-jailbreaking my phone failed to fix the problem, it must be Cydia. Thanks for the help folks. Anyone know if Cydia is a website or a programme on a server?
