quick question if anyone has the info

im dying to buy an iphone 3gs on payg and use my t-mobile sim

now ive read on here through search that there is a new version or something ? which makes it difficult if the mobile ever gets turned off, loses charge, or requires a reset.

my dilemma is do i buy an iphone on the hope that something comes out that will let me get it unlocked, coz as far as im aware the new ones are murder.

and i read a lot about different versions on here like 3.1.2 and stuff ....

which one does the new iphone have so i can read up on it ?
