Does anyone have a '3' sim working in Greek Iphone?

So I'm looking at buying a factory unlocked Iphone, and I've seen one on Ebay from a seller in Greece. He's stated that a '3' sim will work fine in it, but I'm just trying to see if anyone here has a '3' sim working in an Iphone from Greece?

Looking at the apple support page here: Locating iPhone wireless carriers it state that Iphones from Australia, Hong Kong, and Italy support 3. Looking down the list at Greece, although it states it's unlocked, it doesn't mention '3' as a carrier. Not sure if I'm going down the wrong road with this or not. I was under the impression that as long as the Iphone is factory unlocked, it will work with any sim.

I've seen a cheaper factory unlocked from a seller in Hong Kong, but I've always had reservations about buying from HK sellers on Ebay.

Any advice to be given here?

Ive not got a factory unlocked iphone but i have a 3g 8gb running 3.1.2 jailbroken and unlocked running my '3' sim with no problems at all - cant imagine an officially unlocked one would have any probs at all...

I wouldn't have thought so either, but I just wanted to be 100% sure before I brought it as it's a christmas present for my wife, and she's on '3'.

There's no reason it won't work fella, unlocked is unlocked at the end of the day.
Just be aware though that you won't be covered by warranty if you buy one from abroad, the warranty is only valid in the country of purchase. At least that's what I've read on here anyway

The standard warranty is covered in the country of purchase. The apple care plus thing applies internationally.

Applecare will cover you internationally BUT as the UK doesnt have unlocked phones if it needs replacing you will get a locked UK phone back.

Does the converse work with that though? If I buy an iPhone in the UK and something goes wrong in Belgium or Italy would they change it for a factory unlocked one?

Saying that the FAQ page says:

What does “global repair coverage” mean?
If you take your Apple hardware with you when you travel and happen to need repair service, the AppleCare Protection Plan offers global repair coverage. You can either go to an Apple retail store or contact Apple for information on how to obtain service. Service will be limited to the options available in the country where service is requested. Service options, parts availability and response time vary according to country. Please see the AppleCare Protection Plan Terms and Conditions for complete details.

But the terms&conditions say

Apple may restrict service provided under this Plan to the Covered Equipment’s original country of purchase.
