3GS unusable!!!

Been using the iphone all evening , no problems.Installed the latest version of whatsapp, every time I opened it, it would throw me back to the springboard.Didnt think too much about it, then went to use phone and its really sluggish.
For example , when cahnging between screens it doesnt sweep over to the next page it will, if I let it just stay halfway between the pages.Cannot open any apps, just nothing happens at all.Have deleted Whatsapp, resprung, rebooted a couple of times, stil lthe same.

Re: 3GS unusable!!!

Go into winterboard and deselect everything.

Respring and all will be fine.

Then re-select the winterboard items.

Happened to me tonight too

Re: 3GS unusable!!!

Thanks Kieron, but unfortunately I couldnt open Winterboard (or anything else). I deleted everything off the phone(music, videos and apps) before bed and that seemed to do the trick.I have just done as you suggested anyway, and am now in the process of syncing everything back.

Re: 3GS unusable!!!

Whatsapp is a messaging app.It lets you send free Instant Messaging to other iPhone users.

All seems OK with phone now. It was very strange.I couldnt unsync my apps by unticking the sync apps box in iTunes, I had to manually untick every app.Very annoying...hopefully its a one off.

Re: 3GS unusable!!!

Do you have a backup of your phone in iTunes. If so restore from backup. (Right click on phone in left hand pane and use Backup and Restore options) You will loose any contacts, calendar events etc you have since you backed it up.

My phone refused to open any apps on friday, luckily I back it up pretty much every day as I like to 'tinker' with it. It's the first time I'd had to do a restore and wasnt quite sure what it would restore, but it litterally set the phone back to how it was at the time of backup and all ran fine again, apart from loosing some calendar events.
