As posted in the otehr thread i got my V3 sim adapter today and it fitted ALOT easier into the iphone, hardly any pushign required. Not sure if they have made the chip smaller, but it was very easy to put in.
Thanks for the help and it worked, not to sure what difference it makes but somehow it fixed the problem so will keep my n95 nearby just in case,,, not looking to upgrade to 2.2 yet waiting to see about the baseband and the reason for locking it down to o2 there seems to be some rumours about one of the other telephone companies being allowed to sell the iphone as their is a media embargo as apple always do for news pending so I'm watching the space with fingers crossed.

Re: Any-Network does seem to work (+helpful hint)

I sympathise for all the victims of Any-network as I am one. They are a bunch of scammers avoid them like plague unless you wish to loose your money. After 14 days the v3 arrived but it did not work I tried all the various manoeuvres but nothing worked. Tried to contact support on several occasions but did not get through only got voice mails. Sent several email did not get a single reply. They are cheats and scammers. I tried to make a claim with paypal and had the standard reply that they are unable to make claims for “quality of the goods”. They only act if the goods are not delivered. Dont pay using paypal you are better protected if you have paid using credit card. Call the credit card company and reverse the charges. If you are in UK under the distance selling act you are entitled to a full refund if the product is defective. We all need to file complaint with the trading standards office and teach these scammers a lesson. They have closed the blog and now taken out the contact telephone number from their website. Please spread the word around and post any other websites or forum details where we can put our comments. I have ordered a rebel sim and I will keep you posted on this.

MOD EDIT

Re: Any-Network does seem to work (+helpful hint)

Many people have received Any Network sims which work fine so to call the site a "scam" is completely unjustified. There is a thread on this very forum with many happy customers and although I personally have never trusted sim adaptors as they are completely unreliable in my experience they work quite well for many people.

Saying that now that the Dev Team have announced the free 3G unlock hopefully Sim Adaptors will become a thing of the past which can only be a good thing

Re: Any-Network does seem to work (+helpful hint)

I have to agree that any network do not appear to offer great after sale support (well none actually from my experiences) however one important point to note from the post above (and I have just checked on their website) is that they have indeed removed all details for support ie contact us, phone numbers and email info.

Probably worth bearing in mind in case other members have not actually placed an order for the sim adapter yet

I hope you are not connected with Any-network I have personal experience and to me their release of v3 is just a scam. They do not answer any emails or phone calls and have even taken out the contact tel number from their website it just shows a fatal error whilst everything works. They have also closed the blog which was run by ukphone which I gather is connected to any-network. They are scammers and cheats. I have documentary evidence of all the calls emails and complaints to pay-pal and not a single reply from any-network to me they are cheats and I will be complaining to the trading standards office.

I think you need to stop with the accusations TBH, I was not happy with their service either and clearly they are now doing their bit to make sure customers find it difficult to contact them but accusing Mods on AVF of being connected to anynetwork is a bit OTT.

Feel free to take appropriate action to obtain a refund but posting anything but fact in your posts is not going to make people take you seriously.

Re: Any-Network does seem to work (+helpful hint)

I got an email from any-network yesterday. I presume others did too.

They were apologising for the delays and said they were simply overwhelmed and couldn't produce the cards fast enough.

They said they removed the blog because of attacks from competitors!

They also said they are considering a home programming toolkit so that you can update the cards yourself in the future.

Make of it what you will.....

Re: Any-Network does seem to work (+helpful hint)

To be fair they are going to be worried now that the Dev Team unlock is hitting on the 31st, makes what they sell obsolete.

Call me a cynic but I think the fact they have removed the blog and arent replying to emails could be because of the deluge of people who are canceling orders - would cost them a fortune in lost sales if they honoured all those

Re: Any-Network v3 does not work

Well dev team's software unlock is good if you have not updated your base band but for people like me who have updated the firmware to 2.2 and indoing so inadvertently updated the base band the software unlock will not work hence some of us will still have to rely on simunlocks. I wonder if anyone has found a working simunlock for firmware 2.2 there are so many in the market

I am using iPhone 3G on 3 network with 'any-network' sim

I have 3G and full signal but incoming calls are going straight to answerphone and incoming text messages are not being delivered

Does anyone know how to overcome this problem?

Re: Any-Network does seem to work (+helpful hint)

Just to let you know, i bought one and it worked perfect for me.
IPhone is now sold though, but thought i would add this as if it is a scam, they obviously like me so much they made the only working version just for me
