I haven't found a way to stream the live output of Radio 1, but you can stream the podcasts from this link: www.bbc.co.uk/radio/podcasts/ip/#_home |

I tried to access BBC iPlayer for this and other stuff but it wouldn't load. Which i found odd.
Plus most of the youtube vids wouldn't play either, is that because they haven't converted them all yet??

iPlayer only works on WiFi, not on 3G.

If that's true then that's pretty exciting, but I've not found this to be the case.
In fact browsing iPlayer on the iPhone 3G presents the following error when you attempt to view a video "Sorry, Television Programs can only be watched over a wifi Connection"
I would suspect that you were within range of a free hotspot or unsecured network or you started a stream on Wifi and it fell back to 3G tricking the site.
