A quick question about buying a new iphone

A quick question about buying an iphone.

I know this is probably already mentioned in the huge thread but I cannot find anything.

If I buy an iphone in O2 and then unlock it before signing up to a contract (I understand it is done through itunes once you plug it into your pc) there will be no comeback from O2?

So I can get an iphone, unlocked for the price O2 sells it for?

Thanks

Lack of patience!!!

Got it now, roll on 5.00 and an extra quick workout so I can play with it.

From my understanding I have to use Ziphone because I do not have a Mac so cannot use pwnage. Am I correct?

Re: A quick question about buying a new iphone

iPhone will be £169 on Wednesday! Woohoo! I was going to hold out for 3G but that will be nice at that price.

I will post the links later, but I have seen it on 2 other forums. O2 worker has new price tickets for display.

May be a wind up but can wait until Wednesday

Re: A quick question about buying a new iphone

spoke to a friend who works at o2, and he says there is no such reduction
he has not seen the price cards... and says he would have as they get these things sometimes weeks in advance

but granted he also says that in about 2 months o2 will be blocking all un registered iphone imei numbers,

"when you buy an iphone the imei is logged as sold and o2 says you have seven days to activate it... any imei number not registered against a tariff by the dead line will be flagged and made inoperable"

i know its salesmen speal to get you on to a tarrif but ive known him quite a while

and i hope he's full of **** coz this might end up costing me alot

anyone got any words in any particular order to put my mind at rest

Think this guy is having you on mate, You are paying for the Product (Iphone) it's up to you to activate it or not.

if o2 have any sense they would cut the price by £100 and get people to activate it in store like every other phone you buy.
