Iphone 3G GPS Stopped Working

Hi,
I am thinking of buying an iphone 3g 8gb for a cracking price of £150 only problem it has is the GPS has stopped working is this a common fault and can it be fixed ?

Could be hardware or software. If hardware, might be a lead that has popped off (minature coaxial connector) or aerial. At £150 it is worth a punt.

Can it be repaired then if its a hardware problem?

if its a software problem would an update fix it ?

Yes I reckon it could be fixed knowing what I know. No definites in life - I would buy it for the price and take a chance but it's your choice. More likely a fault out to the aerial rather than a board fault I would say. Could try jailbreaking and unlocking it if not done so already if it turns out to be firmware. Then put on a known version of firmware which works.
