Anyone having trouble with Wifi connection?

For the past 2 days my wifi is not connecting and it also keeps asking me for a password. This is the first time it's started to do this, as I set it up without any problems when I first got the phone

In wifi networks it can see the router, and when I 'tick' that network it tries to connect, but no ip address comes up...after a few mins a box appears to tell me the password is incorrect. I have re-input the password/s (tried them all) but its no deal

I have deleted the network and tried to get it to pick the network up again, but its all in vein

Can anyone give me a clue where I'm going wrong, as I've googled the problem and quite a few people are having some problems or another...don't know if it's something to do with software version 3.1.2

I have used blackra1n to jailbreak

Re: Anyone having trouble with Wifi connection?

I often lost wifi connection - only way to fix was a modem router reset. Didn't know if it was my Netgear or Iphone.

In the end I assigned the Iphone a static ip and never had a problem since.

Re: Anyone having trouble with Wifi connection?

Right, I've restored my iPhone back to 'normal' still no wifi icon or connection, so have booked an appointment at the Genius Bar on Saturday morning

Do I need to take any documents ie: purchase invoice etc.

Cheers

Go to settings, general, reset, & then click reset network settings takes about 5 minutes

Re: Anyone having trouble with Wifi connection?

Ever since the upgrade to 3.1.2, I also have the same problem. Sometimes I need to reset the network settings a few times before getting the wifi connection back.

Re: Anyone having trouble with Wifi connection?

I am once again having wifi problems. Mine was previously set to DCHP and would only connect occasionaly in spite of finding my wireless network all the time, i solved this by setting a static ip address and this worked perfectly till the last few days. For no apparent reason i now get the unable to connect message. My computer and iphone settings are shown below

Re: Anyone having trouble with Wifi connection?

I would suggest doing a full restore in itunes and then use the latest blackra1n which should say RC3 once downloaded. My wifi was fine when i used blakra1n before but when i did the unlock last night it went off completely. So i did a full restore, did blackra1n again but i still had no wifi, proceeded to do the steps above and it worked.

Re: Anyone having trouble with Wifi connection?

I've just done another restore, but this time have setup the iphone as a new phone, and guess what.................I have my wifi back...just put in the password and I now have the wifi icon and I'm able to surf the net again, but for how long is another question

Edit: I have restored to a backup from yesterday, and my wifi is still working, so I will try jailbreaking now and get my themes back
