Itunes after reformat

Hi all
I have just reformatted my laptop and was wondering if there was a way of transferring my music library from the iphone back to itunes? I'm pretty sure if i sync my phone with itunes everything will dissappear from my phone. Is this correct?
Thanks a lot.

That is correct i'm afraid.

For next time, remember to back up the "iTunes" folder in My Music, just pop it back into the right place after a format and launch iTunes - your library will be there as you left it

Just an update I found an excellent program for doing this called 'Pod to PC'. Its a free download but u can register for the full product if required. The free version was enough for me so I can reccomend it for anyone is stupid like me and didnt back up their library
