gmail exchange not working

I am having problems with gmail push only working part of the time, and since upgrading to 3.1.2 its hardly working at all.

I've got gmail configured as an exchange server an enabled push, I hardly ever receive the push notifications, and when I go to the mailbox I dont see newly arrived emails that do appear when I go to gmail web interface.. A refresh will not bring any new emails.

I have configured a second account on the iphone to test pointing to the exact same mailbox, however rather than using the exchange setup I am pointing to the imap server, any new emails show up fine there, however I have to set it to fetch rather than push..

Is anybody else having problems with gmail and exchange setup?

I did have issues when I first set it up.

I just left it over night and it started to work.

I think its still a bit hit and miss.

Apperently google has confirmed there are issues with push on gmail exchange. Strange nobody else are having similar problems.

Over last couple of days, gmail push is not working properly on my 3GS...sometimes my messages are left for hours before they are synced. Could this be that Google's mail servers are overloaded with every iphone user on earth syncing? Anyone else experiencing problems?

Mine has actually started working properly now.. Google did do some work last week and alot of people reported that it started working properly again.. hopefully it will start working for you aswell.. if you are using Google Apps (and hosting your own domain) make sure push is enabled under mobile settings.
