Tomtom, mounts and FM transmitters

Hi folks

I have had O2 Orbit 1 & 2 Windows mobile phones for a couple of years, but I was finally tempted away from them by the 3Gs and the promise of tomtom. And I must say I love it. It doesn't do any more but it is much nicer to use!

Now tomtom is out I can replace my Brodit Orbit mount (old phone still used as a tomtom) with an iphone one and get the iphone version of tomtom and a car charger.

My question is can I use tomtom at the same time as an FM transmitter and if so what devices do you recommend that can charge and transmit in a half decent quality. My car is quiet with a decent manufacturer fitted sound system, but unfortunately no aux input. Using the normal line level inputs for the CD changer isn't an option, I have an in dash changer and the connection is apparently digital by fiber-optics!

I already have a number of mini usb car chargers from my O2 Orbit phones so a transmitter/charger that accepts this but doesn't come with one would be an option.

I have read conflicting information on the tomtom specific mount. Some posts suggest it is also a FM transmitter, but this is unconfirmed and there is a 3.5mm jack on it. I assume this is line level...

I would ideally dashboard mount using an Brodit iphone mount to my existing pro-clip. The radio antenna is integrated into the rear window about 8' away.

I would prefer not to use a windscreen mount, the angle of my windscreen means they block and unacceptable area. However, a suction plate could be mounted to my pro-clip if this was the best option. The tomtom mount looks like it would work in this way.

Any recomendations would be much appreciated. I don't want to spend more than £25 on a FM transmitter as I'll be changing the car in about 6 months and the new one will have at least an aux in.

Thank you in advance for your opinions.
