Sky+

Im using sky without a phoneline so when i downloaded the iphone sky+ and tv plus application it didnt work as i need to set up a mysky account, which need a phone line, is there a way around this. Also happened with the sonos app.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

My understanding is that you just need to have the box connected to the phone line to enable the remote record. Once its enabled you can disconnect it.

Thats true, I just connected the phoneline for the initial setup and then took it out afterwards

my Sky+ hasn't been connected to a phone line for over 2years and I have mulitroom. The only thing I can't do is order PPV things over Sky. But if I wanted to I could simply ring up using my phone or fix the extension lead

Just a heads up with regard to unpluging your sky box.
I did this when i was with sky for months, until i received a bill from sky £10 for each month i had it unplugged. When i rang they said they had (what i can only asume as "pinging") the box and got no response.
I told they we had had mice and i was unaware they had broken the cable!!
Just be careful chaps!!

Thanks , i set up mobile number , created the account on sky.com but i keep getting a warning message "Warning this account is not set up for recording" any idea what this could be?

Not sure on that one. Maybe log into your sky account and see if there any activation things. It was years ago when I set mine up so I cant remember how I did it.

I had this problem. I had to upgrade my online account with Sky so i could view my bills. As soon as i had done that everything was fine.
