Golf Scorecard App

Could anyone recommend a scorecard app for the iphone?

Preferably one where you can find course details online and sync it up. UK not America

I do not want one where you need to connect on Wifi/Edge I am after a application only.

I use to have one on previous nokia phone where it kept my details scores so I could look on previous rounds to see if I have improved or not.

Yes - GolfCard.

Absolutely superb and very cheap. Has a supporting website that allows you to request or add your own courses as well.

I am off on a 3 day tour around Devon in may and only 1 of the courses did not exist. i downloaded the golf clubs scorecard off their website and input the details into the GolfCard website in about 10mins, then downloaded it into the iPhone - brilliant!!

I take it you mean the full version @ £3.49

Do they have a website that tracks your scores etc...... ?

It seems it mentions oobgolf on the description but when I check their site it seems its all America?

Can you score more than 1 player or do you need the full version?

Do you have the stats feature (birdies/pars/boogies) for previous rounds?

Hello mate,

It has the option to score 4 peoples cards and it does have the stats feature (shots, fairways, GIR) etc but I've disabled that.

yeh the fairways hit and GIR are a waste of time.

I just like it when you can it track say like last 5 scorecards at that course showing if you improved or not and on what holes.

And what dont you get on the ViewT N comapred to expensive version

These worry me due to them seeming american.....

oobgolf.com does not recognise any course in UK ?!?!

Yes it is very American but if you go to here oobgolf

Then in the left hand pane ensure you select UK in the dropdown then enter your postcode or one in the are you wish to look at. e.g KT18 7EW. If the course you want is in the list below that pane just double click it for more details. You can also drag the map around in the right hand pane to see the rest of the country too.

I am thinking of getting this app - i don't see my home course (Cowglen Golf Club, 301 Barrhead Road, Glasgow, G43 1AU) on it via the link above.

If i get the app and try to use the sat view/gps will it work? If not, how easy is it to get them to add the course?

It's built now matey - just took me 10 minutes of my time (which is what I love about this app) as long as you can get hold of the course card - which you can from most club websites you can DIY in minutes.

Regarding the sat view/gps if you can see it on google earth then you will see it with this app.

and the answer is yes G43 1AU - Google Maps

You can see Pollok next door too for those stray balls!!!

Hows this for service from oobgolf (golfcard)?

A local course that i will be playing on a society day end of next month was not on their website and the club did not have a scorecard online either, so i thought i would chance my arm and send a request in to oobgolf for the course to be built.

That was on 24/04/09. 5 days later - here it is all built and ready to use!!!!

Great service, and to think i only paid £3.50 for the app - superb.

ps - i should state i am not a salesman for them!! but credit where credit is due.

I am currently using GolfTraxx which was Free because I could not decide which one to buy.

But seeing this in use it does exactly what I want. If the course is not there you just map it yourself and send to the guy for upload.

Includes GPS and simple score entry.

That is very confusing. There is also a free version which says it is limited to the first hole. You could always try that first to see if you like it before trying out any of the paid options.

The iTunes descriptions dont really explain anything from what I can see.

Just gone to the ViewTi website and there is no mention about the features of ViewTi N but its does seem like ViewTi Golf is better than ViewTi G despite the fact its cheaper....

I think the main differences are not having gps or google earth mapping - but it is a tad confusing!!. If i were you, i would seriously take a punt at £3.50 on golfcard. If you feel it does not give you the majority of what you want and need then look at spending 5 times as much for pretty much the same functionality......... horses for courses at the end of the day I guess
