Docs To Go: microsoft office docs

Hi,

I have downloaded Docs to Go. But how and where do I store the documents on the iPhone ?

I have seen there is MobileMe which comes with iDisc. Is that the only way ?

I use MobileMe and have done since the days of .Mac and it's been superb for storing documents, keeping contacts in sync etc.

I use the iDisk app on the iPhone and its excellent!

Thanks but : is it really not possible to store documents on the iPhone without using some sort of online service ?

I just want to store on my iPhone

EDIT I purchased the app Docs to Go, I think I need their desktop application to get this sorted. Anyone done this already ?

I use the app Flashdrive and find it does what I want. I use it for various files, mainly PDF's.

You can't use the iPhone (non-JB anyway) as a drag and drop tethered device for docs, but Flashdrive will store the files on your iPhone via wifi. NB. You only need a wifi enabled computer NOT an internet connection. Nothing is stored online. It's simple, easy and it works for me.

Hope this helps and I haven't missed the point.

Thanks. The Docs to Go app works the same way, over wifi and I have been able to get it working now . I had to pay 6 quid for it but its nominal and I'm just glad I can edit and create as well as view.

On a side note, I don't suppose you know the answer to the following question:

-for SMS , how do you access other folders eg. sent , deleted, draft txts that is if they exist !?

-in the calendar, when you set up appointments, is there a way to make it default to give a regular alert/reminder eg. 5 mins before every appointment , rather than having to set it manually every time ?

Thanks bigbex - that is an interesting app

I had a look around and found this cute and informative video:

YouTube - Flash Drive Application for the iPhone and iPod Touch (Giveaway Video)

ReaddleDocs is another app from same company which is mentioned in the above video; it appears to do quite a bit more and is just £2.99 atm
iTunes Store
