Thought this would make a good thread as push apps are probably one of the best things about the update imho.

Ive heard tap tap revenge 2 has them so far, but anymore?

Re: Now we've got 3.0, list apps with push enabled as you find them

Skype is the one I think most people are holding out for - then theres Twitter and Facebook. If those can be updated with Push, then the iPhone takes on another dimension again.

Beyond that, I'd like to see some sort of gaming network (like Live! / PSN).

Thats what excites me so much about 3.0, not cut/copy/paste - or ANY feature that I can use as of now, but what we are going to see in the future!

(I stink of geek today, I'm a web designer who is overly excited about a firmware update for my geeky phone and I've just got in from watching Star Trek )

Using facebook as an example ,

When some replies to , say your status , the application will show youve got a notification on the phones main screen ( on its icon ) rather than you having to go and check manually.

The information is said to have been "pushed" to your device...hence the name

Re: Now we've got 3.0, list apps with push enabled as you find them

I used to use Beejive on my blackberry, and it was by far the best IM app out there. I hear the Iphone version is pretty damn good as well, and with push, it must be pretty damn good now.

However one thing lacking from Beejive is Voip / Skype support which Fring and Nimbuzz both support.

I reckon Fring / Nimbuzz / Truphone will soon be coming out with push support shortly though.

BTW, understand AIM supports push.

Now only if Gmail supported push, that would be great.

The "Tioti TV+" app now supports push notifications.
It apparently alerts you when shows you have tagged are about to start.
