Do you mean just a list of the titles you have?

Yes. That's exactly what I want.

Reason - Well I have a list of all my DVD's/Blurays (over 500) on a spreadsheet on my PC. Every weekend without fail, the wife and I will try and decide what we want to watch, so we flick through the list looking for something to watch. Instead of having to constantly print out a new list to keep downstairs, I just though it would be handy to flick through a list on the iphone by A-Z or by Genre.

It would also be handy for when i am over at my dad's house and he could flick through to see if he fancied watching any.

It would also be handy when out shopping. Many a time I've found a bargain and never took it as I was convinced I had it, only to discover that I don't when I get home.

Re: App for DVD/Bluray collection

I also use DVD Profiler on my PC which you can get a mobile version of but am not sure it works on the iPhone. It's still a top notch program for listing all your films. I am in the same boat as you with over 500 films and it's a very good reference tool.

That's what threw me! I did wonder if you had posted a genuine question but in the wrong forum, thinking you might have wanted a PC app. Thought I'd ask before moving it and glad I did. Glad also you've found the solution you need

Re: App for DVD/Bluray collection

I've actually found one that looks really good. Its called "Clz Movies". You firstly need to catalogue your collection with the software from Collectorz.com. You can then export your collection into your iphone.

Only drawback is that it costs £5.99. I may do this tonight.

Re: App for DVD/Bluray collection

If you've got a Mac, then I can highly recommend Delicious Library 2

Delicious Library 2

It also makes cataloging your collection really easy by allowing you to scan the barcode of the DVD/Blu-ray disc on the web camera, it then gets the disc information from Amazon. You can then export your collection to your iPhone

The Invelos site says they are working on an iPhone version of the excellent DVDProfiler. I have this on my PC and Windows Mobile IPAQ and it's superb

I use iCollect Movies Pro.

Really good, simple and intuitive interface, the ability to scan or manually search for a title.

I also use their iCollect Games app too.

iCollect Movies Pro for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad on the iTunes App Store

iCollect Video Games Pro for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad on the iTunes App Store

Don't settle for second best, it's got to be DVD Profiler

I would also recommend the MyMovies app as suggested a few points above- again though relys on abit of time selecting the movies but would do all you wanted it too.

Theres a free version you can try which will store up to 100 movies then you have to pay for the full thing

I just downloaded the free IMDB app this weekend. Although it seems you can login using your main IMDB site account details, it doesn't appear to give you access to your "My Movies" lists area (unless I am being dim).

If it did this would be another way of accessing a DVD/Blu-Ray list on your Ipod Touch/Iphone.

Does anyone have both iCollect Movies and DVD profiler? I have the iCollect Movies app (DVD profiler wasn't out at the time) but wanted DVD profiler as I also have it on my PC so would be good to sync. iCollect Movies is a good app and does what I need but very tempted by DVD profiler for obvious reasons but don't know if it's worth another £5.49 just to have the same thing again?

I have both and IMO both are very similar.

The thing I like about iCollect is that it syncs online, rather than with a PC.

I prefer it because if I update my collection on my iPhone, when I'm on my iPad next I just have to select "Sync from web" and it's updated.

Whatever works best for you I guess.

Cheers for that, seeing as though both are similar I may just hold out for a price drop even though I doubt that will come any time soon if at all!

I used to use an app called 'Movies' which did a great job and had a really nice interface, but the developer released a couple of duff updates which rendered it pretty much useless, so I switched to 'MyMovies' which I like even better. The big advantage of MyMovies is that you synch to an online database which you can then access from your PC. Another nice feature is the ability to view high resolution images of both the front and back covers of your films.

Following a recent update Movies is working again, so I now have my entire movie collection stored twice in 2 different apps, but I mostly use MyMovies.

It can take a while to enter new films if you're not on WiFi, although I tend to enter then by searching for the title rather than scanning them (unless they're really obscure) as I find it's quicker. The developers of MyMovies are supposed to be working on a significant update which will give you much more flexible entry options and filter features. For the price I'd highly recommend it.

Looking at doing this only for my Blu-Ray movies, after nearly buying Iron Man 2 again. I cant even remember buying it in the first place

Any of them specifically better at cataloguing blu-rays?

Edit: Just got the free version of iCollect Movies to try.

Doubt one would be better over the other at cataloguing blu-rays, how come you will only be scanning blu-rays? I like in iCollect that you can choose to display blu-rays or DVDs only. Can probably do that in DVD profiler too but can't say for certain!

YEs, you can. You get the option to filter just DVD, just BD or both with DVD Profiler.
