Journey planner and up to date travel info.

Hi,
Got my wife an iphone yesterday and as she travels to the city every day using a combination of overhead, tube and bus I thought I would buy an app that could warn her of delays and give an alternative route. There are quite a few on there so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations.
