The best free apps?

Im getting my iphone today and i dont really want to shell out more money on apps. I was just wondering what are some of the best free apps out there???

Depends on what your interested in but here's mine which I reckon are pretty good.
iFooty (football scores, tables etc.)
RugbyNews ( similare but RU)
eBay (your ebay account on iPhone)
Facebook (not all features but okay)
GPSLite (decent GPS tool)
Telegraph (Daily Telegraph feeds)
WunderRadio (may not be free can't remember but great anyhow, streams worldwide radio to your iPhone)

Some that i use:

Skype - make skype calls - only works over wifi
im+ lite - instant messenger
VNC lite - allows remote use of desktop pc
ihandy level - spirit level
lastfm - streaming music
locly - find bars/restaurants etc near you + directions to them
pandorabox - keeps an eye on new apps/price drop apps - i use this daily
midomi/shazam - music recognition software
sky+ - remote record if you have sky +/HD at home
remote - use iphone as remote for desktop itunes
stanza - free book reader
weatherbug - weather forecasts - more detailed than the home screen one
sodasnap - send free postcards to any email address
quickvoice - voice memos
mover - slide photos/contacts between iphones
fluid - water simulation - looks quite cool
isteam - write on your steamed up iphone - breathe on it to steam up again
panolab lite - take multiple photos and join them vertically or horizontally
digimicro - mini drum kit

Those were all free when i got them but don't know if you need to pay for any of them now.

A couple of other paid ones i would recommend are:

simplify - stream your home pc music collection to your iphone over wifi/3g/edge
golfcard - great scorecard/gps golf app if you play golf!!
ibeer (although i think ipint is still available as a free alternative) - gimick to show friends - drink a virtual pint on your iphone
