They didn't sell out, it was always a paid app on the App Store. They got frustrated by the length of time Apple took to approve a significant upgrade, so they put it on Cydia in the mean time.
It was a remarkably generous thing for the developers to do, really.

Wasted my money | Actually i find it to be very good, but it does depend on the types of things you are looking for. Great for electrical items, CD's and books etc - stuff thats sold online a lot.
Tried it in Staples the other day. They had a printer in there for £280. Redlaser found it at a few online retailers at £130. The salesman was speechless
IMO its a brilliant app.

IMO its a brilliant app. | I agree - I like browsing books in Waterstones so it's handy to be able to use this to see what Amazon are charging for it to decide whether to impulse buy it there or not. Good little app.

I tried it on some PS3 and Wii games in Game the other day. Also tried some deodorant, aftershave, books, drinks etc
Some of them came back with minimum information such as what company produced the item (ie Fruit Shoot made by Robinsons) but it couldn't find any prices.
The only thing that has worked so far is one Wii game.

The only thing that has worked so far is one Wii game. | I just picked 3 PS3 games off my shelf at random (Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, Pro Evo 2008) and all 3 returned lots of price results. Have you tried updating perhaps? I am running v2.2.0

Its huge flaw is that when you're out and about you can just search online for anything using your iPhone's internet browser. Why use redlaser just so you can faff about trying to scan a barcode and search a limited selection of sites?
I just don't think it has a point |
