I've used bbcreader for quite a while now without issue, it's simple and I liked the way it linked you back to the BBC website and gave you the pictures, as of today it decided to die a death and crash repeatedly, emptied cache, uninstalled etc to no avail then I saw all the reviews of 1 star etc saying "crash crash crash". Not sure why it ran so well for so long, I even thought it was a pucka BBC app till today.
Anyway what's the alternative? I found 'News UK' by Nuvus but it's a pay app and looks quite new or a rework of an old app they used to do so no reviews yet.

I like Telegraph reader as it has full articles like the BBC one. Most of the other ones have just short summaries.

Yeah I'd resisted signing up with google so far, you end up with an account here there and everywhere in the end |

In regards to Google Reader, the Google app doesn't give you anything more than a bookmark to the website: http://www.google.com/reader/
The site is optimised for the iPhone and works well but it would be nice if there was a proper app for offline Reading.

you guys should check out newsstand here: omz:software
really good rss reader. can be used with bbc's rss feeds and also features google reader syncing
edit: if you need offline viewing you can also use http://readitlaterlist.com/iphone/
which also can be used with newsstand. so if u find something u wanna read later just add it to your list from newsstand then download it using the read it later app.
