Thanks: Gave 2, Got 2 | VOIP application -iPhone 3GS
Has anyone got good experience of using a VOIP application on the Iphone? I make a few international calls and would really like to save a bit of money. There seem to be a few about but just want to know if anyone has used them yet and if so what they are like.

Ive got skype, it only works on wifi, but if your jailbroken there's a cydia app to make it work on 3g too...... also if your jailbroken there's a cydia app call backgrounder which would theoretically allow you to keep it open in the background.
its quite a good app
the other one people bang on about is fring

Can you configure Fring to set up your own SIP accounts? You wouldnt want to be stuck to something like Skype where they use their own protocol.

I know that 3 support Skype but I haven't tried it. I've tried T-Mobile Web'n Walk Max with Fring for a month about 2 months ago. The connection was poor, always disconnecting and cost £19.50 for that one month. If you want Fring on 3G, try 3
