I'm not finding any dust etc getting in between the case an phone wit my defender like but I did put front and back screen protectors on before I put the phone in the defender just in case, double protection, down side is the screen sensitivity is down a bit but I got used to that in no time.

right, need a case for my 4s, what do you all think?

something like this? £5.99
Play.com - Buy G5-Online Protective Stylish Ultra Thin Crystal Clear Skin Case With Screen Protector For Apple iPhone 4s / 4 / White online at Play.com and read reviews. Free delivery to UK and Europe!

or this? not tried a leather case style one before
Play.com - Buy G5-Online Apple iPhone 4 / 4S Protective Leather Flip Case With LCD Screen Protector / White online at Play.com and read reviews. Free delivery to UK and Europe!

or something cheap like this? £2.90
Play.com - Buy Stylish Chrome Hard Case Cover For iPhone 4/4S With Film / Red online at Play.com and read reviews. Free delivery to UK and Europe!

do the expensive £15-20+ cases REALLY offer that much more protection than these cheaper ones?

It's hard to tell but the thing is is that there's nothing much to them anyway. The £26 Apple are charging is a rip off and a joke. They could be the "real deal" but for that price who cares?!

for £2.90 it will be better than nothing until i decide what to get as a proper case.

how would you go about protecting the top and bottom as they have buttons and ports on, so can't fully protect it surely?

Some cases have buttons built in that press the iphone buttons, so they are protected.

just got my iphone 4s and the pixelskin hd i had for the my 4 doesnt fit

the silent switch cut out is slightly too high

went to the apple store as i was walking by, the apple dude told me to cut the case a little to allow it to sit properly lol

he goes no point in paying £25 for a new case lol top guy!

Iv not got a clue about taking a cut, as dave m asked, I have received my griffin a few hours ago and I have to admit it has better protection than the otterbox, for example, there are covers over the speakers to stop the dust getting in and also a cover over the ear pice with pin holes in it to reduce the amount of dust in the ear pice. Those 2 things the otterbox didn't have and what I love about the griffin. Down sides of the griffin, the screen protector sits slightly further away from the screen so slightly more pressure is required. The flaps that cover the silent button etc are a little to easy to open when pulling out of pockets etc. my major issue is the sensitivity of the home button with the griffin fitted, I have managed to activate Siri so many times it's annoying me already but I'm overall happier with the griffin than I was with the otterbox, both are the best for me needs but the griffin comes out on top.

Sparky. Take phone out of case ,on the back of silicone home button there's a bump if you reduce this. Cut a couple of millimetres off job done home button sensitivity reduced. Worked a treat for me.

You know what geordy I should really have thought of that myself, simple but affective, I'm feeling a bit silly now because now you have mentioned that it's the simplest thing to solve the problem. Cheers

If I were on a desert island it would have to be the otterbox defender. Fav case otherwise is the incipio although I don't like the way the front bit overhangs the top of phone, rather than hugging it.
