iPhone Dock for around £70

Hi,

I'm looking to get some feedback from you guys. I only use my iPhone for podcasts and I'm looking for a docking system with speakers which has its own mains power...

Anyone have any good suggestions they can recommend?

I have the Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2:

Logitech PURE-FI ANYWHERE 2 IPOD/IPHONE SPEAKER SYSTEM review cheap prices PURE-FI ANYWHERE 2 IPOD/IPHONE SPEAKER SYSTEM Logitech best buy discount online uk shop

Got excellent sound for a smallish dock, plus has a built-in rechargeable battery which I found dead handy for camping trips. Also has a remote control and comes with international travel adaptors if taking abroad on holiday.

I have a Sony ICF-C1ipMK2 and it's very nice system with a decent sound and comes with a remote too. The only negative I can think of is that the display can be a little too bright for bedroom use but that can be quite easily sorted. Can be picked up for around £60.

Ive got a bose sound dock. If you look hard enough you could find one of the older ones for around £70... its not a patch on the hifi BUT, compared to other docks its bloody brilliant.

Having used it in reasonably small chunks over a two week camping trip it's hard to say exactly. We were well into the second week before needing to recharge it though. The quoted 10 hours is possibly a little optimistic, but I'm certain I get at least 8 hours plus between charges.

Re: iPhone Dock for around £70

I second that...
I'm looking for a Speaker Dock, my Dad is trying to give me his Tangent Speakers but I need a HiFi for that and its just not suitable for a bedroom situation.
I'm returning my Altec Lansing M402 which anyone should avoid like the plague because they are shockingly bad.
I need something shielded, stylish, good sound and a fairly loose budget of £70.
I must say I am super tempted by the Vers 2x which just looks amazing and the sound should be pretty good too but I think it might just be a little to pricey.
Anyone recommend any alternatives?

Re: iPhone Dock for around £70

Mmm - possibly more than you were looking to spend but i use a JBL200 dock. For me it ticked all the right boxes in terms of power output, looks and above all sound quality.

Re: iPhone Dock for around £70

Just to add to the mix something I've just found out by looking for a dock is that I infact have an iPhone and need to make sure that its compatable or if I do infact plug my iPhone into a dock that isn't, it puts my phone in aeroplane more and I cant recieve calls.

What your looking for is a "sheilded" speaker, common on higher end units it means you don't get that annoying interference.
I think I am going to save up and get the stunning Vers 2x for about £150 over here in the UK.

I can tell you from experience that even the docks that are shielded and iPhone compatible still bring up the - this is not compatible do you want to go into airplane mode dialogue box. You just get used to ignoring it.

The JBL 200 does that, so do the Bose docks!!

They both work fine without the annoying interference noise and can take incoming calls.

You're talking about two different things....

The shielding protects the speaker from phone interference. This is the important bit for use with the iPhone as the noise you get is bloody annoying.

The message you get means the manufacturer hasn't paid out to Apple to make their product an authorised / licensed product. This is mildly annoying, having to dismiss the message, but big wow.

I run the Sony ICF-C1ipMK2 and it never comes up with this message and works flawlessly too in terms of receiving calls and text messages.

Re: iPhone Dock for around £70

The Logitech I originally linked is also fully iPhone compatible and doesn't display the accessory message or suffer with any interference probs.
