Re: iphone alarm clock dock

some of us have this

Play.com (UK) : Play.com iPod Speaker Dock With Alarm Clock (White) : Electronics - Free Delivery

bear in mind, if you want to receive calls, any speaker system will get interference from incoming calls or texts. you're usually asked to put your iphone into airplane mode.

try this perhaps?

Griffin Technology AirCurve Acoustic Amplifier for: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

I have this one - Play.com (UK) : Mavizen 168SB Dual Alarm Clock Radio With iPod Speaker Dock : Electronics - Free Delivery and can highly recommend it.

Great quality for such a great price. Also comes with a remote which controls the iPhone to playback music

this looks quite good but does it put your phone into flight mode when you dock it. what I'm trying to get at is; will the phone ring if I have it docked. I kind of need the phone to ring in case I'm on call that night.

you dont have to put your phone in flight mode, just expect to hear 'dub dulalub dub dulalub dulalub dub' every now and again

When you dock it, it asks if you want to enter flight mode or not. Click no and it operates as normal and still charges etc.

Best thing I've bought recently

Re: iphone alarm clock dock

when the phone asks you to put it into airplane mode do you have to press a button on the phone or can you ignore it , i just want to be able to dump it in the dock without having to fiddle about and wake the wife.

I've actually never tried, the pop up message just comes up straight away so I press no instantly.
This happened with a TV I recently bought too so don't think there's much else out there where it won't ask you if you want to enable flight mode

Re: iphone alarm clock dock

I think I might be taking a leap here but it appears awfully similar to the Limit one on Play:

Play.com (UK) : Limit IP-CR100 Clock-Radio With iPod Docking Station (Black) : Electronics - Free Delivery

Same thing but rebranded?

Edit: Physically don't appear the same but have very similar features and at the same price point - and the Mavizen *may* be discontinued as you can't buy it (no buy button) from Play?.... Just a thought anyways....

2nd Edit: Loads of Positive reviews for the Mavizen on Play (and on here). Damn - it's a good price too - might phone 'em later to see what gives....

Thanks Fuzzmo - I would have purchased that straight away but I dont like the idea of it buzzing!

UPDATE - Just phoned Play.com (miserable bloke answered) who simply said that any item that does not have a buy button is no longer instock. He wouldnt tell me if they ever plan to restock or even check on the item for me.

Re: iphone alarm clock dock

Bad news - the Mavizen is out of stock and will never again be in stock! When the buy button has been completely removed it means that the item is in process of being removed and soon all evidence of the product will be gone....

Just my luck! The lady from Play could not confirm any link between the Limit and the Mavizen either but apparently the Limit is ranked number 1 in sales for that section?....

Need to do more digging I suspect.....

They can be very good but make sure you don't end up with a unit that's susceptable to the "dun dada dun dadad dun dada dun". That'll drive you to the very brink of insanity over the course of a few nights.

The dock is pretty much just better speakers, right?!
Personally, I am looking at this from Amazon.co.uk and using a free app from the store to play any of my itunes songs to wake me up (AlarmTunes Lite)

This dock is good enough to act as a good sound speaker and combined with the appropriate app should serve well to the original poster as it is shielded for iphones (so non of the dub dubdedub noises)
Hope that helps?!

iPhone Alarm -- Does it actually work??

I have recently purchased the iPhone 3G and as with any phone i have had I use the alarm on it to get me up in the morning..however even if I set 3 alarms a couple of mins apart on the iPhone I dont seem to hear it! and I have very good hearing...so is there a reason for this. I have set the alarm during the day to make sure it works, which it does. But it never seems to go off in the morning....ideas would be grateful
Thanks
