I have, using Greenpois0n on 4.2.1 and I'll be updating it to 4.3.1 tomorrow and then J/B with redsn0w.

Sent from my iPhone using the AVForums app

Sorry, I was asking of 4.3.1 JB, not 4.2.1. I'll do mine tonight and report back

That guide tells you to restore your firmware to 4.3.1, does that wipe all your user data & apps? if so, can this be re-synced afterwards?

Before you jailbreak, make sure you back up your iPad using iTunes because the restore will wipe clean the iPad

After the jailbreak, do a restore from iTunes and all your data will restored

Can i ask a stupid question?

Is there any specific advantage to jailbreaking my iPad?

I've done my phone and was good to try some different themes and that but i quickly got bored of how buggy it seemed to be and restored it.

I've got a 16gb Wifi iPad 1 and was hoping for some advice.

Cheers

G

I jailbreaked my iPad just to add few tweaks from Cydia such as

Shrink to shrink my icons by 80%
5-row keyboard iOS4
Bosspaper to remove labels from icons
Safari download manager
ScrollingBoard
Ifile

in Step 2: it asks you to restore by clicking on restore while holding the (mac) option button, what do windows users do?

Updated from 4.3 to 4.3.1 last night and the bloody backup didn't work and as such, it hasn't restored any of the apps that I had on my iPad

Not amused. Especially as I'm waiting to have broadband installed at our new house and I can only get apps from my parents house when I connect to their WiFi.

I didn't get that error with my iPad 1 last night, tho I had to reset it into DFU mode manually twice as the program hung and wouldn't proceed. Once I restarted the iPad and put it into DFU again, it carried on.

Im deffinatley on 4.3 but even when i try step 1 and hold down the shift key in itunes and select the redsnow update 4.3 it says firmware not compatible.

going to do a normal restore and try again now, so got 60 odd minuites to wait before trying again

Just jailbroken my ipad 1

I used to have my iPhone3G JB'ed, but never my iP4

Now just done my ipad i'm out the loop as to what are good apps to get.

I'll take a look at what you are using but anyone recommend useful/good ipad JB apps?

What is the app that makes iPhone apps run full screen without stretching them?

Hi guys, can anyone advise how I can upgrade my ipad 1 from a jailbroken 4.2 (I used Greenp0ison) to 4.3.1 untethered jailbreak?

Do I just let itunes update my ipad to 4.3.1 then run the jailbreak?

also, what do I need to do about my JB apps?

Many thanks

Happy with my JB'd 16GB mk1 on 4.2.1 as it is. Are there any benefits with moving to 4.3.1?

It's always better to have upto date Firmware because majority of the apps both Apple and Cydia will be updated for the newer version of firmware.

Also when you upgrade, you won't be thinking about upgrading in the future unless apple releases another version
