Monster HTS1000 Home Theatre PowerCentre or Belkin PureAV Isolator Home Theatre SP

im looking to purchase a surge protector which also isolates noise but have a couple of questions

1) do they really make a difference, i do experience some inteference with my lcd tv with some sources and hoped something like this could help a little.

2) whats better one of these:

or one of these

http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=2061

3) is there much difference between them? from reading up on some threads its seems not...

cheers

Matt

Before blowing your dosh have a read at this from Russ Andrews regards mains supply in general RUSS

From what you are saying it may be RF pickup you are experiancing and a trip to Maplins to purchase some ferrite rings would be a nice cheap starting point. Maplins sell Tacima mains board with surge protection and filtering for little dosh compared with the above albeit I have not used any of them so cant say if any work. Decent sheilded cables also help.

I have the Belkin & to be brutally honest the socket contacts are so weak I can't recommend it... I'm thinking of tweaking it tho' for tighter contacts.

As far as interference goes I did not have any in the first place I just bought it for some cleaner supply & FWIW nothing dramatic in results. Interference on your LCD may not be coming through your mains but your aerial/lead instead.
