Hi guys, need advice optical into DAVIS10

I have just ordered a Sony DAVIS10 for my set up. It ticks all the boxes apart from the lack of inputs in the back... which are quite sparce, but I plan to resolve this with a combination of splitters.

I have a 360, PS3 and SKYHD.

The DAVIS10 has one optical input and a HDMI output.

I have a joytech 3 into 1 hdmi splitter.

I am thinking of sending the Sky, PS3 and DAVIS10 into my HDMI splitter and then out to my Bravia 40".
The 360 will be through component.

Now audio wise I obviously want to go optical. Now one optical input obviously causes problems... so I am looking at sending the SKY, 360, PS3 into the amp via optical... gonna be a pain switching the hdmi splitter and the optical independently... but can't afford to go with an all in one HDMI and optical switcher at present..

so can you see any issues with me sending all those optical inputs into the amp via a switcher?

cheers for any help

Hey mate

as I understand it; if you have a quality enough HDMI 1.3, should carry your 5.1 signal for you, so as long as you have an optical cable from your AMP to your tv, the rest should be history (i think) guys confirmation on this please? I been having the same issue..

do you need a seperate cable for the audio to get proper 5.1 dolby surround or not?

cheers for the reply mate..

not 100% sure as to why I need an optical from the TV to the amp? so all HDMI feed into the TV gets bounced back to the amp? I presumed all optical would need to be channelled to the sony all in one box?
