I have a new 46F86 Samsung LCD and a BOSE VS2 video enhancer. My current Sky+ box is a Pace 2 (PVR3).

The VS2 to TV feed is HDMI

Issue: inputs to the VS2 are HDMI / Component / S-Video / Composite. If I use S-Video from the Sky box to VS2 the picture has poor resolution. However if I take Scart direct from the Sky box to the TV the picture is reasonable.

Question: can I convert the Scart output from the Sky box to component and feed component into the VS2. I am working on the presumption that feeding component into the VS2 will give me a much improved picture over the HDMI link to the TV?

In case it's not obvious, I am way out of my depth here...

i dont see why the s-video would be any different to the scart...have you got all the settings right in the setup screen on the sky box

You can't improve the picture by converting it and you can't use a SCART to component lead as the sky box doesn't output component over SCART (only the Topfield PVR does AFAIK). As your TV and sky box has SCART, connect it up using a decent quality SCART lead (less than £20 will do) and ensure it is set to RGB, 16:9 and SCART control set to on.
